After such a great response and turn out at the premiers of both Conceiving Family and Rural Transcapes, there will be a second screening of both films.
Rural Transcapes at 7PM and Conceiving Family at 8PM on Thursday, January 12th at SelfDesign High, 412 Victoria Street/2nd floor of the Royal Legion. Tickets are only $10 at the door and there will be a brief Q&A after each screening. You can come to watch one or both films…

Trans Connect Premiere of A Watershed Production, RURAL TRANSCAPES, a documentary.
This topical film profilies four Transgender Folks who have chosen to live in the Kootenays. The movie will be followed by a panel discussion.
The documentary will take you into the lives of a group of transgendered folks who have chosen to live in a rural community as they seek medical support, navigate issues of safety, gain employment, begin a family, and create a place to call home. The film also features Dr. Chris Cochrane and Dr. Esta Porter, two medical professionals based in Nelson who work directly with the transgendered community.
