Summer Intensive Workshop Courses offered across the province.
Workshop courses are designed to give learners the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to discussions, etc in a group setting, yet, move through the course content at their own speed using the courses available online. Whether you want to do something just for fun, or if you want to earn a few credits while enjoying summer activities we have something for you!
In the following video, SelfDesign High mentors share their reflections on mentorship and teaching.
Our conscious choice of the use of the term mentor is deeply related to our approach and the SelfDesign™ methodology. Mentor as we are using it: "wise and trusted guide", is from it's etymological ancient Greek roots. The image is individuals sitting side by side, learner and mentor gazing out at a shared interest, subject, and passion.
EOS learners experience a blend of face to face, online and independent project engagement. Youth meet weekly in the mornings for theme nest presentations from SDH Mentors, and have the option of group workshop courses and experiences three afternoons a week. Three times a year the group initiates and participates in outdoor experiential trips, traveling to explore different bioregions of our province.
